Valentines Day is a loved by some and loathed by others – but whether you are single or attached make this Valentines Day your best ever. Below you will find some great ideas to rev up your love life whatever the state of your relationship.
Couples
Rev Up Your Romance
- Add a touch of Romance to this year’s bubbly by dropping one of two fresh violet flowers into a glass of dry white wine but don’t worry not only are they edible they sweeten your breath (so you can have that garlic bread with dinner after all!).
- Have some naughty fun by buying invisible ink pens with built in UV lights and write romantic (or kinky) messages over each others bodies. Take the light pens to work and read the notes in your lunch break – risqué!
- As you may know scents have an amazing power to change your mood so make sure your relationship stays sweet this year by spraying your bed linen with a light fragrance – rose water works a treat!
Reinvent Your Relationship
- Each sell 10 things on eBay (or at a carboot for the more retro amongst us!) then use the money to do something you’ve never done before. It’ll feel like you’re embarking on an exciting project together and you could have some real fun without breaking the bank.
- If you’ve been together a while you can’t turn back time to those hazy early days of love but you can indulge in a nostalgia night. Go to the town or bar where you first met and reminisce on the old times – try and find similar underwear to wear too and see if your partner remembers!
- If your feeling a little frustrated with your partner (and believe me even the most loved up of couples experience it at some point!) take time out whether at a party or just in your living room to watch them. Think back to the first time you set eyes on them and remind yourself what it is that you love about them.
Stay Happy Together
- Make time for a daily cuddle. It’s always worth it!
- I always find that the happiest couples those who aren’t afraid to pursue interests of their own and balance their time together. (that means that if he wants to go to the pub with his mates you should let him!)
- R-e-s-p-e-c-t! It’s a top tune and a top tip for staying happy with your partner – make sure that your fair in your relationship and communicate with each other to iron out problems or kinks.
Singles
I’ve never understood why Valentines Day should be sad for singles – I’ve never been sad and single on Valentines Day. The day is about love it doesn’t have to be romantic so, instead of getting depressed that you’re single this Valentines Day have some fun instead and spend some time with those that are dear to your heart! Here are some top ideas:
Pamper Yourself – book the afternoon off work and head out for a facial, manicure or hair cut. If money is tight head to Boots and stock up on home kits, switch your phone off and just spend the afternoon relaxing at home.
Make Time For Friends – Hold a party for all your best friends (male or female!) – drink cocktails, eat pizza, play twister and watch trashy films – what a night!!
Cheat! – Order some roses to be delivered to your office or place an ‘anonymous’ card on your desk (ask your Gran to send it mine has always obliged!) Or even better it’s a great excuse to get that top you’ve been pining after or that brand new pair of shoes – just order them online and request for them to be gift wrapped – sorted!!
See Family – Come on, we all know that we don’t see our family as often as we should so make time for them on this, the day of love. Meet your mum for lunch in town, go out for a drink with your sister or take your nephew to see that film with the fighting! They’ll appreciate it as much as you!
Be Brave – had a crush on someone for a while – today is definitely the day to be brave enough to do something about it – send them a valentines card with some not so subtle clues or email them to see if they are free for a drink after work.
Whatever you do – don’t get drunk and wallow – it’s not worth it – it’s only a day!!
