No Plans For Care

Wednesday 23rd January 2008

A new survey released this week has highlighted that 2/3rd of people have no plans to put any extra money away for their retirement or to pay for extra healthcare when they are in their old age.

Three charities conducted the survey which also found that 2/3rd of the 1000 people interviewed were likely to turn to turn to friends and family to look after then in their old age rather than the Government or local councils.

There are fears that as the population of Britain continues to get older government provided social care will be unable to cope with the treatment of our elderly.

The survey was carried out by the charities Help the Aged, Carers UK and Counsel and Care and is hoped to provoke the Government into action.
